Kansas Teachers - How to Get Access to FF4Kids

Step 1:
Financial Foundations for Kids is being delivered to all Kansas elementary and middle schools free-of-charge through their Empowered Desktop by Kan-ed/LearningStation, a custom web portal full of resources designed to support teaching and learning.

To make FF4Kids available on your school's Empowered Desktop, one or more teachers are required to attend a free workshop. We hope that teachers who attend a workshop will return to the school and share what they learned with fellow teachers. In-service training for your teachers is also available.

Step 2: Once you have received training. . .
After training, a link to FF4Kids will be placed on your Empowered Desktop for your entire school to access. Your Empowered Desktop is can be reached at http://kportal.learningstation.com (Click HERE for answers to FAQ)

Step 3:
Download and save the Teachers Guide for your grade level-

K-2 (Word Document) (PDF)
3-5 (Word Document) (PDF)
6-8 (Word Document) (PDF)

Step 4:
Choose your lessons using the correlations provided here.

Step 5:
Review the lesson your students will be using yourself.

Step 6:
Once you have seen what the students will be experiencing, review the supplemental activity found in the Teachers Guide and prepare what you will need to teach the activity.

Optional Step 6.a:
Have your students take the online pre-test. Receive access to the test here.

Step 7:
Use the Courseware in class. You will access the courseware from your school's Empowered Desktop: http://kportal.learningstation.com using your school's logon.

Option 1: Have your students work independently through the assigned lesson(s).
Option 2: Display the lesson from your PC to the entire class and work through the materials together.

Step 8:
Do the supplemental activity to reinforce the concepts covered in the Courseware.

Optional Step 8a:
TRY FOR THE GOVERNOR'S FISCAL FITNESS AWARD!
After your students have completed at least 1/2 of the lessons in their grade level, have your students take the online Post-Test. Be sure to have your students print their test results for your records. Download and print the award for the students that pass the test!
